Recently going through this funny Monkey video about equal pay made me laugh really hard at the poor monkey. But I also the realization that Pakistan stands 2nd last in the World Equal Pay Ranking 141 out of 142 according to the Global Gender Gap 2015.
Women all over the world have fought for equal opportunity and equal pay and have achieved many success. Positive pattern can been seen on the decreasing pay gap. Yet Pakistan still lags far behind.
Women in Pakistan have always played an active role in economy, politics and social sectors. And today they have overcome many barriers and are becoming important part of all kind of different organizations.
But to find out such Facts about unequal pay is very discouraging. Especially when they have already faced many problems in getting the jobs and while in the jobs. According to the Report, “the closure or continuation of gaps is intrinsically connected to the framework of national policies”. Pakistan is already going through many crisis but the government needs take steps overcome this wide gap.
